Practice Performance Management – Roles and Responsibilities
This week we kicked off the series around best practices for your end of year review. Often organizations don’t take the overall process serious enough. We have worked for a number of organizations some that took it serious and some that had NO rigor around performance management. You may or may not care much early on in your career, but as you become above average we guarantee you will care more when a below average peer gets equal rewards as you. This article (click here) really does a good job of describing the responsibilities each division should cover regarding performance management.
We talk about it a lot throughout the series over these three weeks and encourage you to review this article to also understand your responsibilities (the author calls out 27 bullets) that make up your responsibilities. Furthermore the article does the same for your manager and the leadership team. Don’t let your company sell you short on your performance or your performance review.
